Foeslayer (Ranged Weapon Magic Property)

Enchant Cost: +6 (epic)

You must be level 21 or higher to equip, wield or wear an item with this property.

A foeslayer weapon is drawn unerringly toward any creature the wielder wishes to attack. A foeseeker weapon ignores the miss chance for Concealment against most targets, though the attack must still target the proper square. This property is always active, and does not require an action to activate.

By spending a swift action, the wielder of a foeslayer weapon can know intuitively the exact location of the nearest hidden foe within 50 feet, even if such foes are invisible, faded, etc., as long as the wielder has line of sight to the target's square. If more than one hidden enemy is equidistant to the wielder when this ability is activated, the GM decides which foe's location is revealed. Only the wielder learns this information; the weapon does not inform the wielder's allies (though the wielder certainly can, if they wish).

When used to attack a creature that has concealment (due to terrain, lighting, or anything else), is using Stealth, or is invisible to the wielder, the eldritch power of the property inflicts terrible harm to that enemy, dealing 3d6+19 points of bonus Force (energy, uncommon) damage on a successful hit. The damage granted by this property is bonus damage, which is not increased by a critical hit.

This property also adds +2 to the critical range of a weapon. For example, a foeslayer Longbow would have a critical range of 18-20, as opposed to its normal 20. The foeslayer property does not modify the weapon's critical multiplier. This property does not stack with the benefit provided by Keen or any other magic property, but it does stack with feats and class abilities that expand the threat range of a weapon (such as the Improved Critical feat). Spells and other effects do not stack.

As a swift action, if the wielder wishes, they may declare that all of the weapon's damage is dealt as force (energy, uncommon) damage. While transformed in this fashion, the weapon exists fully in both a corporeal and incorporeal state, and therefore it ignores the 50% reduction in damage that is normally granted to incorporeal creatures, or when the wielder and the target exist in different corporeal states. It also deals normal damage to targets in the same corporeal (or incorporeal) state as its wielder. The weapon's damage remains this way until another swift action is expended to turn it off, the weapon is sheathed, or until the wielder takes a full night's rest, whichever occurs first.

While dealing only force damage, a foeslayer weapon cannot be made Broken with the Sunder combat maneuver, except by attacks that deal force damage, or weapons with the Ghost Touch magic property.

Creation: Creator (Feat), Epic Creator (Feat), Bailiwick Check (DC 50), a intense remnant (tier 4), and an item symbolic of the enchantment.
