A creature with greater climb can climb and travel on vertical surfaces or even traverse ceilings with ease. The creature must at least one hand free to climb in this manner. The creature gains a +2 training bonus on Movement skill checks to climb; furthermore, it need not make climb checks to traverse a vertical or horizontal surface (even upside down). A creature with greater climb retains its Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) while climbing, and opponents get no special bonus to their attacks against it.
- Prone: If a creature with greater climb is knocked Prone, he falls to the ground, taking normal Falling Damage.
- Difficult Terrain: A creature with greater climb is subject to movement penalties caused by difficult terrain.
- Permitted Movement: A creature with greater climb is able to charge, make 5-foot steps, run or withdraw while climbing.
- Overland Travel: Outside of combat, a creature can use greater climb to travel overland at half the pace as a walking creature of the same speed when moving through an area with enough structures to allow climbing (such as a tree canopy, or dense ruins).
