Description

You call upon the Green for the power to illuminate your foes. The Green sends you a crackling charge in your fingers.
Make a melee touch attack against a target you can reach. This may be done as part of the action of casting this spell. If you succeed on your melee touch attack, you generate an arc of lightning that starts with the target you touched, and extends 3 squares in a line past that target (for a total of 4 squares affected). The lightning deals (Circle 1 damage): 1d6 points of damage per character level (max 4d6 at character level 4) of lightning (energy, common) damage to the touched target, and any other creatures partially or wholly in the path.
One square of the target's space adjacent to the caster is always the first square of the line created by Lightning Arc. The caster may then trace out the remaining three squares in the arc's path. The path can turn, go diagonally, and even come back toward the caster. However, the path can never pass through the same square more than once, nor can the path skip any squares – it must be contiguous. Any creature whose space is included in the path (or any portion of their space, if they are sized-large or larger) takes the Lightning Arc damage.
There is no saving throw for any of the targets affected by this damage, but if the initial melee touch attack fails, the spell is lost. Note that this spell frequently requires casting in melee range.
The length of the arc increases by +1 square per experience tier of the druid beyond the first. That is, at Druid level 6 (2 tiers), the length of the arc increases to 5 squares (one square of which must be a square occupied by the melee touch target). At Druid level 11, the length increases to 6 squares. 7 squares at Druid level 16; 8 squares at Druid level 21; 9 squares at Druid level 26; and 10 squares at Druid level 31 and above.
