Description

This spell is even more potent than Breath of Life (Cleric Spell), in that it can affect multiple targets as above, and cures 5d8 points of damage + 2 points per caster level (maximum +70).
Unlike other spells that heal damage, Nine Lives can bring recently slain creatures back to life. If cast upon a creature that has died within 1 round, apply the healing from this spell to the creature. If, after this healing, the healed creature's hit point total is at a negative amount less than its Constitution score (not modifier) plus its Character Level, it comes back to life and stabilizes at its new hit point total.
If, after receiving healing from this spell, the creature's hit point total is still at a negative amount greater than its Constitution score plus Character Level, the creature remains dead. Note that it is possible that heroic measures may allow multiples of this spell to be cast, in extreme circumstances. Each such casting is checked independently for a return to life, as long as they are all cast in the 1 round time limit.
Like cure spells, Nine Lives deals damage to Undead Creatures rather than curing them, and cannot bring them back to life. Due to the potency of this spell, when used to inflict damage to Undead, the damage is doubled.
