Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./lvl)
Target or Area: one target creature, plus one per 20 character levels (drop fractions; max 2 at level 20) living creatures, no two of which can be more than 30 ft. apart
Duration: Until the end of the current encounter (only castable during combat)
Saving Throw: Will partial
Save DC: 10 + caster stat modifier + 1/2 character level
Spell Resistance: Yes


This spell functions like Cause Fear (Spell), except that it causes one or two target creatures within 30 feet of each other to gain the Cringing condition, and suffer (Circle 1 damage): 1d4 points of damage per character level (max 5d4 at character level 5) of Psychic (energy, uncommon) damage. Creatures that succeed on the saving throw are instead Shaken for 1 round, and suffer only half damage.
