Your new Captain! Charming, isn't she?

Man-o'-War

We bravely flee at top speed from the spider swarm.

We reenter Scragg's Bluff, intent on trading in our goblin parts.

Vellum disappears when we are directed to the Proctors to report the orc raiding party. We fill out a form and receive an Incident Reporting Award of 600 impers.

We also get a reward for the 2 goblin hearts: 1 shiny plat (100 gp).

Vellum reappears, disheveled and carrying some awful grape-flavored beer excellent wine, and a box.

We go to a pawn shop and sell the chains. Vellum finally peeks in the box, which emits a faint silvery-bluish glow. Hydrazine realizes it's a portable hole. Apparently Vellum sold our unnegotiable currency for it.

We go to the Soothing Fingers Spa. It is in a large Tudor style home on the north end of town. IT is super swanky. A day at the spa is 100 gp, but a private room is merely 50 gold (total). Or on the house, once Vellum diplomacizes, and gets us up to 1500 dagets (150 gp) per person per day comped by the spa.

We get a private room, and get plenty of leers. Once we're in the room, Vellum opens the portable hole. There is a locked chest in the hole, with a large iron key and a note that says "To Whom it May Concern: This should satisfy your needs."

There is 60,000 in assorted cash in the chest, which Vellum slams shut. Edric throws the existing cash in.

Leslie insists on returning to the boat. We pass by a Warden of Daneth, and inform the Warden of the crocs, the spiders, the orcs, everything. We return to the Far Rider and then plan for returning to town. Edric looks for Captain Paramon, but instead finds, seated on the upper stairs, the ship's alchemist, Mitral Vin, in extremely bad shape. He says we're not leaving any time soon. Bill suddenly reappears and asks to go to town.

After a significant amount of shopping, everyone goes to sleep at a nice inn. We are woken up at 3:30 when Fergus and Sara wake us up. Mount Grumbly is erupting (vigorously). They take us to the Central where there is an Ethernet Mirror. We're escorted to it, after Fergus pays for the use. Sara mentions code words to it, and a red glare pours out of it, with hissing. Captain Paramor is in the mirror.

The captain says that things are going well, but he is unexpectedly delayed due to the vast trouble quantities of loot he is weighed down with. However, he's heard apparently good things about Edric and Hydrazine. He fires Sara, and steam comes out of her ears. He then promotes her to Harbor Captain. She is stunned but somewhat mollified. He promotes Edric to First Mate (triple shares), and Hydrazine to the First Manatorium Mate (double shares), assistant to Vin.

Sara recalls us to the ship. We get there at about 0400. Moored next to the ship at the top of the waystation is a vast black shape, twice as long as the tower is tall (so about 800' long). It's an Imperial man-o'-war.

Edric: I wonder what they want with us!
