Beast Heart (Ex)

Requires: Barbarian 1, Feral Mien
Benefit: Once per round as a free action, you can activate Beast Heart prior to performing a full-attack action. When you do so, you lose access to your fourth attack action, and you also suffer a -2 penalty to your first attack. However, you gain a +1 bonus to your second attack, and a +4 bonus to your third attack.

Your fourth attack action cannot be used at all — you can't attack with it, take a 5-foot step with it, nor perform a combat maneuver with it. It is gone until the start of your next turn.

If you gain one or more bonus attacks from any source, such as from Haste, they are performed at your highest attack value, which means they suffer from the same -2 penalty as your primary attack.

Progression:

  • 11th Level: You may now use your 4th attack in your full attack action to perform a 5-foot step, if you wish. It cannot be used for a combat maneuver, nor can it be used to attack.
  • 21st Level: Your second attack gains a further +1 to hit (for a total of +2), and your third attack gains a further +2 to hit (for a total of +6). Your primary attack still suffers the same -2 penalty as before, and your fourth attack is still limited to only being used for a 5-foot step.
  • 31st Level: Your second attack gains a further +1 to hit (for a total of +3), and your third attack gains a further +2 to hit (for a total of +7). Your primary attack still suffers the same -2 penalty as before, and your fourth attack is still limited to only being used for a 5-foot step.
