Weight: 3 lbs.
Family: Cloak of Elvenkind

Contrary to the popular 'joke', no, the Cloak of Elvenkind isn't made out of actual Elves. For that matter, most of them aren't even made by Elves.

The Cloak of Elvenkind is a nice cloak, almost always well cut and of quality materials, and any decorations are of a highly refined style. This is because the Cloak of Elvenkind is meant to evoke the essence of the First World (supposedly the long-ago home of the Elves). The First World is fabled as a place of enormous age and erudition, where exquisite taste and subtlety are the norm rather than the lonely exception.

Most Cloaks will be found with at least some efforts at a stylish cut, so the sympathetic aspects of the magic seem to be working.

Cloaks of Elvenkind, aside from looking fabulous, are also eminently useful for anyone who wishes to be subtle and discrete in their activites. They all allow the wearer to vanish from sight, and make their steps muffled to boot. They are not precisely a Cloak of Invisibility, but in many ways, they're even better.

A Cloak of Elvenkind +3 allows the attuned wearer to be far more intrepid in their adventures. It grants the following powers:
  • This Cloaks eldritch powers are subtle, but undeniable. The focus of intent required to perceive a wearer of such a Cloak is loosened, ever so slightly. As a result, the eye tends to slip over them, the sounds they make are uninteresting, their scent grows bland, their very presence a nullity. This manifests as a +3 to all Stealth Skill rolls the attuned wearer makes. There is no limit to how many times this may be used, as it is an inherent property of the item.
  • The essential nullity invoked by this Cloak extends to a tiny asynchrony between the attuned wearer and all the rest of reality. As a result of this tiny shift, this cloak adds a +2 Resistance Bonus to all Saving throws of any type made by the wearer. This is a simple effect, but because it protects against anything that allows a saving throw, it is extremely broad and flexible, and as a such, is quite valuable. There is no limit to how many times this may be used, as it is an inherent property of the item.
  • The wearer of the Cloak may gather their will and assert their nullity. This is a swift action, or it can be triggered as part of a move action used to move, and grants the wearer the benefits of Vanish (Sorcerer/Wizard Spell). This ability can be used three times per day.

The owner of this magic item must wear it continuously for 24 hours to attune it to their aura, and until that time has passed, it provides no benefits to the wearer.

Creation: Creator (Feat), Bailiwick Check (DC 38 (10 + double CL)), Pale (tier 2) remnant, An item symbolic of the enchantment, 14,000 gp (minus cost of symbolic item).
