Scouring damage is a type of energy damage caused by the kinetic energy in a fluid or gas. It is related to both fire and abrasion, and tends to rips the surface from creatures and objects afflicted by this sort of attack. Extremely high winds, powerful flows of liquids, and hurricane blasts of flame are all examples of scouring damage sources. Definitely to be avoided.
