Apprentice's Wand of the Rudiments

CL 17 Magic Wand • Moderate Enchantment
Cost: 104,000 gp
Weight: 0.5 lbs.
Family: Wand of the Rudiments

A wand of the rudiments, at first glance, seems incredibly simple in form. It is a classically shaped wand, approximately 10 inches long, three-quarters of an inch in diameter at the base, and tapering gently to a quarter-inch diameter at the tip. But that is where its apparent simplicity ends. The color of the wand seems to shift randomly, red to blue to purple to shades that are hard to look upon without squinting. Furthermore, the wand's temperature seems to rise and fall unpredictably, sometimes hot to the touch and other times cold, and sometimes an odd combination of both. The texture of the wand also constantly changes from smooth to slippery to gritty to pitted to sticky to jagged, in no perceivable pattern. Taken as a whole, while the shape of the wand is constant, all other features seem to constantly shift in an impossibly chaotic way.

An apprentice's wand of the rudiments grants the wielder the ability to apply the effects of the Rudiment Spell (Feat) to any 1st through 5th level spell, up to once per round, without increasing the spell level of the spell.

The wielder must already possess the Rudiment Spell (Feat) to use this wand. Without the feat, the wand is unusable.

This magic item does not require an attunement period, and grants its benefits immediately upon being worn or wielded.

Creation: Creator (Feat), Bailiwick Check (DC 44 (10 + double CL)), Bright (tier 3) remnant, An item symbolic of the enchantment, 52,000 gp (minus cost of symbolic item).
