Alabaster Gyre (Bane)

You manifest the will of your pact's greater power in the form of a bitter, icy wind, which gusts mercilessly within an area you choose.

As a standard action, select a 15-foot cone, and choose one enemy creature within (or partially within) the area of that cone. Only the target (or targets, if upgraded) you specifically select are subject to the Bane's effects. Any other creatures in the cone's area are unaffected.

Make a ranged touch attack against the target creature. If the attack hits, it inflicts 1d6 + INT modifier points of Cold (energy, common) damage to that creature. This damage increases by an additional +1d6 points of cold damage per Pariah level above 1st, to a maximum of 25d6 + INT points of cold damage at 25th level). Targets do not receive a saving throw to resist or reduce this damage.

Crits:

  • Bane attacks can critically threaten enemies on a to-hit roll result of a natural 20.
  • If the follow-up roll confirms the critical hit, Banes inflict double damage on that target.

With Karma:

  • If you have Karma when you manifest a Bane, you can target one additional enemy creature, as long as that creature is also within the range of the Bane's area of effect.
  • Having karma allows Bane to-hit rolls to automatically confirm any critical threats as critical hits.

Upgrades:

Upgrades must be selected in the order listed below. You cannot skip an upgrade to select one further down the list.

1)  You can slide any target creature you successfully hit 1 square.
2)  You can select up to two targets when manifesting this Bane. All targets must be within (or partially within) the cone's area.
3)  You can manifest this Bane as a move action, instead of a standard action.
4)  The range of this Bane improves by 10 feet, to a 25-foot cone, instead of a 15-foot cone.
5)  You can select up to three targets when manifesting this Bane. All targets must be within (or partially within) the cone's area.
6)  Any creature you successfully hit with this Bane gains the Torpid condition until the end of its next turn.
7)  Damage dealt by this Bane improves to 1d6+2 per Pariah level + your INT modifier, to a maximum of 25d6+50 + INT at Pariah level 25.
8)  You can select up to four targets when manifesting this Bane. All targets must be within (or partially within) the cone's area.
9)  You can manifest this Bane as a swift action, instead of a move action.
