They don't add an arcane spell failure chance, but they do inflict a -2 penalty to your Maneuver Defense to resist any sunders made against any of your equipment. Someone wearing Mithril Finemail is making a statement, and that statement is: they look fantastic. GM's are encouraged to take this into account for role-playing. When Bronan the Barbarian puts on the Mithril loincloth, it should Mean Something.

This magic item does not require an attunement period, and grants its benefits immediately upon being worn or wielded.
