Character Creation
- Available Classes
There are 15 available classes. See the main page for a listing of these classes. If there is a class you are interested in that isn't on this list, please let me know. Sooner would be better than later.
- Available Races
All of the core races are available. Alternate racial features must be approved beforehand. No ECL races will be allowed, and I strongly discourage the truly weird races. If you really have to play a half-grell, and have some compelling reason why you think having tentacles instead of thumbs is a good idea, we can discuss it, but you should expect me to say no.
- Character History and Plot Hooks
Do not create a backstory for your character. Instead, please focus on personality traits and quirks, as these will be far more useful to you. All will be explained once we start the campaign.
- Starting Stats
Stat generation will use a point buy system, with 28 points. Stat costs are:

No more than one stat may be bought below a 10 (racial mods may bring a second stat below 10), and no stat may exceed an 18 without a racial mod. For those of you who would like to use a calculator, this web page has a fairly useful one: Point Buy Calculator (use the first one on the page; the second one uses different numbers).
- Starting Gold
Starting gold for all characters will be zero. Each character will begin the campaign with a basic set of (non-armor) clothing, and the only reason I'm even giving you clothing is because I'm basically a prude.
- Starting Hit Points
Level 1 characters get full CON SCORE plus max hit die for HP's at level 1. Hit dice are restored to old (lower) values.
- Multiclassing
Multiclassing is permitted, but you must have at least 5 levels in a class before you can change to a new one. If this completely horks up your plan for a particular prestige class, let me know, and I might make an exception. This is primarily to prevent 'class dipping' and saving throw min-maxing.
- Retraining
Each time a character gains a level, she may, if she wishes, retrain out a single element of her character's abilities: a feat, 1 level's worth of skill points, the decision to take an extra skill over a hit point, etc. Doing so allows her to swap this out with a new ability she likes better. This gives players a chance to undo choices they've made that didn't pan out the way they'd hoped. Note that you may not train out an ability that is a prerequisite for another ability. Backing down a feat tree in this manner can be done, but may take several levels.
