Condition Severity: Moderate

Something has hit you so hard you are seeing stars, little animated birds, or something less charming, circling around your head.

Effects

  • If you have a held or readied action when you become baffled, it is lost, and you are considered to have taken your turn this round.
  • Your place in the initiative order immediately drops below the creature immediately after you in the initiative order.
  • If multiple creatures are affected by Baffled at the same time, just move the first unaffected creature above all affected creatures in the order.
  • If you are already last in the initiative order, your initiative is unaffected.
  • This change to initiative order happens only once, immediately upon becoming Baffled, and not in subsequent rounds.
  • If you have already acted this round, and the change in initiative would appear to give you a second action this round, you do not get a bonus turn.
  • Any caster level checks you make are made at a -4 penalty.
  • Any effect you cause which has a saving throw has its saving throw DC reduced by 2.

Ended By

If the ability, trap, or effect description includes specific directions for how the condition is ended, then that is the primary means of ending this condition. In many cases, it is the only way to end the condition. If nothing is specifically listed for ending the condition, then the following methods can be used to end it, instead:

  • Baffled automatically ends at the end of your next turn.
