All characters start out with a good solid [[set of clothes|Adventuring_Gear#Outfit.2C_Sturdy_Clothes]] for free...unless your Barbarian just isn't into that, which is also fine by us, if that's the kind of game you want to play....  For simplicity, you may also purchase an [[Adventurer's Kit| Adventuring_Gear#Kit.2C_Adventurer.27s]].  This costs 12 gold and weighs 44 pounds and provides you with 'all the basics'.  You may also 'mix and match' from the Kit, or just 'buy your own'.
