Condition Severity: Strong

Effects

  • A frightened creature flees from the source of its fear as best it can. If unable to flee, it can instead choose to fight. A frightened creature takes a -2 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks. A frightened creature can use special abilities, including spells, to flee; indeed, the creature must use such means if they are the only way to escape. Most free actions remain available to a frightened creature, including saving throws and speaking, though the GM should decide what is appropriate.
Frightened is like shaken, except that the creature must flee if possible.
This is a fear condition.

Ended By

If the ability, trap, or effect description includes specific directions for how the condition is ended, then that is the primary means of ending this condition.
