Nagdyr

To win, you have to survive, no matter what.

Origins

Nagdyr are frequently called ratfolk, a name which is extremely offensive to them. Given that a nagyr certainly LOOKS like an anthroform rat, perhaps the appelation has some merit. But it is never a good idea to make a nagdyr angry with you.

Nagdyr are an animal totem race, and as such they are quite old and solidly entrenched in the lore and history of the world. Most races take one look at a nagdyr and instantly think their animal totem is a rat, and to be fair, they look a lot like rats. Their face is heavily muzzled, they have fur, and they walk and move in a feral hunch at the best of times, and can drop to all fours and move around with ease. Sadly, nagdyr are not rat totem animals. The wisest of sages and cyphers have examined the species in great detail, and their lack of rat ancestry is plain.

What is their totem animal? No one is exactly certain.

Now, the Nagdyr claim they are actually badger totem animals. And it is true, many Nagdyr have the temper and savagery to prove it, locked away under a thick veneer of civilizing influences. But detailed analysis shows that badgers are not their totem animals, either. Their true totem animals are weasels.

To the Nagdyr, assertions of weasel ancestry are enraging, and given their temperament, it's always wisest to keep such discussions discrete.

The slide is executed before the stand, so it is quite possible for a Nagdyr to eel away from a foe and stand up outside of their reach, thus escaping harm.
