Necrotic damage is the power of the death fundament channeled into an attack. Necrotic damage is favored by many undead magic users, as well as evil-aligned clerics. Unlike negative damage, many undead are not healed by necrotic damage, and in fact, most undead (as well as most living creatures) can be harmed by it.
