- You cannot take any actions, except some free actions (such as saving throws).
- You cannot speak.
- A petrified creature stops aging and will never die. They are aware of their surroundings, but unable to interact with them in any way.
- If your petrified body is cracked or broken, but the broken pieces are joined with your body as you are returned to flesh, you are unharmed.
- If, however, your body is incomplete when returned to flesh, you gain the Maimed condition.
- A petrified creature typically weighs four times as much as the creature's normal weight.
Ended By
If the ability, trap, or effect description includes specific directions for how the condition is ended, then that is the primary means of ending this condition. In many cases, it is the only way to end the condition. If nothing is specifically listed for ending the condition, then the following methods can be used to end it, instead:
- In addition to the usual magical cures (e.g. a Greater Restoration spell, a Limited Wish spell, or a Wish spell, or an ability which emulates one of these effects), Petrified can also be cured with a Stone to Flesh spell.
- If not cleared, the Petrified condition will never expire on its own.
