'''Resolute Creature''' is a pattern that can be added to any creature that is a Lawful variant of a base creature.  Fascist Drow, highly organized Cave Trolls, and even militaristic Goblins all can be created with this pattern.
A Resolute Creature uses all of the base creature's statistics and abilities except as noted below.
== CR (challenge rating) ==
Same as base creature +1.
== Size and Type ==
The creature's Size does not change.  Its Type remains the same but it gains the subtype Lawful.
== Initiative Modifier ==
The creature's initiative modifier increases by +1.
== Alignment ==
They become Lawful, if not already, rather than Chaotic of Neutral.  They remain Good, Neutral, or Evil on the moral alignment axis.
== Senses ==
All  senses such as scent, tremorsense, keen hearing, etc. are unchanged.
== Armor Class ==
Resolute Creatures gain +2 AC.
== Hit Dice ==
No changes.
== Defensive Ability ==
A Resolute Creature gains the following abilities, which may be added to their Bestiary entry:
=== Aura ===
Same as Base Creature.
=== SR ===
Same as Base Creature.
=== Special Defenses ===
The Resolute Creature gains ER/- equal to half its adjusted CR.  It also gains DR/chaos equal to its CR.
=== Immunities ===
Same as the base creature, except any keywords of evil or good are changed to chaotic.
=== Weaknesses ===
Same as Base Creature.
==Out of Combat==
Same as base creature, except utterly, completely organized.  They have a hierarchy of social status, follow strict rules and customs, love uniforms and rules and the strictures of law.
== Speed ==
A Resolute Creature's base speed improves by ten feet in all movement categories it has.
== Melee Attacks ==
No change.
== Damage ==
No change.
== Space and Reach ==
No Changes.
== Offensive Ability ==
A Resolute Creature gains the following abilities, which may be added to their Bestiary entry:
=== Smite Chaos (Su) ===
Once per encounter, as a swift action, a Resolute creature may choose one non-lawfully-aligned creature to Smite.  Once it has declared its Smite target, it adds a +3 bonus to melee attack rolls, and a damage bonus equal to its adjusted Hit Dice.  Smite persists until the target is dead or the resolute creature rests.
== Ability Scores ==

== Maneuver Offense and Maneuver Defense ==
+1 bonus to Maneuver Offense and Maneuver Defense.
== Feats ==
== Skills ==
Sense Motive, CR+12. This is useful for detecting targets for their Smite Chaos attack, if they have no other way of identifying a suitable victim (''detect alignment'', the PC who is picking its pocket, etc.). Note that also makes summoning Resolute creatures for non-lawful purposes a bit of a challenge if they figure out what you're doing...

Not just anybody can do this, you know. Well, okay, they can if they have this pattern. But otherwise...

Resolute Creature Pattern (+1 CR)

Alignment: changes to True Lawful
Subtype: add Lawful to subtypes

Resolute Creature is a pattern that can be added to any creature that is a Lawful variant of a base creature. Fascist Drow, highly organized Cave Trolls, and even militaristic Goblins all can be created with this pattern. Resolute Creature is also really useful for representing elite 'militaristic' monsters. Fire Giant commanders, Devils, highly-organized bands of Orcs or Ogres, or even simply Constituents who are corrupt members of the Watch or some foreign army, all can be represented by this pattern.

This threatening creature is tidy, squared away, and well-presented. It seems to relish order, and despise the undisciplined.

Smite Chaos (Su; Resolute Creature Pattern)

Once per encounter, as a swift action, a Resolute creature may choose one chaos-aligned creature to Smite. Once it has declared its Smite Chaos target, it adds a +3 bonus to melee attack rolls, and a damage bonus, against that target only, of 2 points of damage, inflicted as stilling (energy, uncommon) damage. Smite Chaos persists until the target is dead or the end of the encounter.
