Not just anybody can do this, you know. Well, okay, they can if they have this pattern. But otherwise...

Resolute Creature Pattern (+ CR)

Alignment: changes to True Lawful
Subtype: add Lawful to subtypes

Resolute Creature is a pattern that can be added to any creature that is a Lawful variant of a base creature. Fascist Drow, highly organized Cave Trolls, and even militaristic Goblins all can be created with this pattern. Resolute Creature is also really useful for representing elite 'militaristic' monsters. Fire Giant commanders, Devils, highly-organized bands of Orcs or Ogres, or even simply Constituents who are corrupt members of the Watch or some foreign army, all can be represented by this pattern.

This threatening creature is tidy, squared away, and well-presented. It seems to relish order, and despise the undisciplined.

Special Abilities

Smite Chaos (Su; Resolute Creature Pattern)

Once per encounter, as a swift action, a Resolute creature may choose one chaos-aligned creature to Smite. Once it has declared its Smite Chaos target, it adds a +3 bonus to melee attack rolls, and a damage bonus, against that target only, of 2 points of damage, inflicted as stilling (energy, uncommon) damage. Smite Chaos persists until the target is dead or the end of the encounter.

Resolute Creature is a pattern that can be added to any creature that is a Lawful variant of a base creature. Fascist Drow, highly organized Cave Trolls, and even militaristic Goblins all can be created with this pattern.

Smite Chaos (Su)

Once per encounter, as a swift action, a Resolute creature may choose one non-lawfully-aligned creature to Smite. Once it has declared its Smite target, it adds a +3 bonus to melee attack rolls, and a damage bonus equal to its adjusted Hit Dice. Smite persists until the target is dead or the resolute creature rests.

Ability Scores

No changes.

Maneuver Offense and Maneuver Defense

+1 bonus to Maneuver Offense and Maneuver Defense.

Feats

Skills

Sense Motive, CR+12. This is useful for detecting targets for their Smite Chaos attack, if they have no other way of identifying a suitable victim (detect alignment, the PC who is picking its pocket, etc.). Note that also makes summoning Resolute creatures for non-lawful purposes a bit of a challenge if they figure out what you're doing...
