Rod of Lesser Repairs

Rod of Lesser Repairs

CL 1 Magic Rod • Weak Transmutation
Cost: 500 gp
Weight: 4 lbs.

This rod is made of blonde wood, with inlaid metal in the shape of small hand tools such as hammers, marking awls, saws, etc. It is square and heavy, capped with a large set of prying claws on one end and a clasping wrench to turn fasteners on the other. It is otherwise unremarkable.

Wielders of this rod can utter a command word as part of a ten minute Ritual casting to cast a Mending spell, using up one charge from the rod.

Speaking the command word and touching the rod to a damaged item causes the Mending spell to activate, as part of a ten-minute repair ritual. This spell repairs damaged non-magical objects, and can also remove the Broken condition from a Sundered non-magical item. If the object has a Durability score greater than 1, each casting of Mending restores one point of Durability, up to the item's maximum. All of the pieces of an object must be present for this spell to function.

Damaged or broken magic items, constructs, vehicles, and fortifications cannot be repaired by this spell, requiring the Make Whole or Greater Make Whole spells, instead. This spell has no effect on objects that have been warped or otherwise transmuted, but it can still repair Siege Damage done to such items.

You can purchase this rod at a higher creator level than the minimum required to cast the spell. Doing so increases the potency of the spell as described above, but also increases the cost, as follows:
