Shifting Wraps +2

CL 8 Body Slot Item • Weak Transmutation
Cost: 8,000 gp
Weight: 5 lbs.
Family: Shifting Wraps

Shifting Wraps appear as a long baulk of cloth or leather. It is worn by wrapping around and around the body, then securing it snugly with ties or clips. The cloth may be delicate or coarse, heavy or gauzy, plain or heavily decorated. If the cloth bears designs, they often have themes of shifting and change, forms melding and merging and changing into each other.

While being worn, the Wraps seem to have very little effect, until the wearer uses some ability to change their shape in a combat effective way. Using Disguise Self or magic items that allow you to change your shape but which do not allow you to use a Transmogrified Creature pattern do not activate the powers of this item.

Abilities that are affected by this item include, but are not limited to, Druid Wild Shape, Alchemist Mutagen, Least Polymorph, Lesser Polymorph, Adjustable Polymorph, Polymorph, Greater Polymorph, Shapechange, Form of the Dragon I-III, or Elemental Body I-IV. Other abilities may also count, and the Game Master adjudicates all unusual circumstances.

While Transmogrified, the wearers original body is completely consumed by the magic. If they are wearing a Shifting Wrap, their new form gains bonuses, even though the Wraps grant no bonuses at all to your 'base body'.

If you are a heavy user of such magical effects, these Wraps are incredibly useful indeed.

A set of Shifting Wraps +2 grants the attuned wearer the following bonuses while they are using some ability to access a 'Transmogrified Creature' pattern rather than their own form:
  • The Challenge Rating (CR) of their Transmogrified form is increased by 1. This gives them many boosts, such as additional hit points.
  • They gain a +1 Enhancement Bonus to their Armor Class.
  • All damage inflicted by each of the attacks and attack powers of their Transmogrified form gains a +3 Enhancement Bonus.
  • The Walk and Fly speed (if any) of their transmogrified form increases by 5 feet.

The owner of this magic item must wear it continuously for 24 hours to attune it to their aura, and until that time has passed, it provides no benefits to the wearer.

Creation: Creator (Feat), Bailiwick Check (DC 26 (10 + double CL)), Languid (tier 1) remnant, An item symbolic of the enchantment, 4,000 gp (minus cost of symbolic item).
