This rod is in the shape of a long wooden haft, capped by a hammer-head of silver. When swung with intent toward a target or targets, while the command phrase is uttered, the rod emits a heavy 'thud' as if swung full-strength against a tree.

Wielders of this rod can utter a command word as a standard action to cast a Battering Blast spell, using up one charge from the rod.

When activated, this rod hurls one or more fist-sized balls of force (each resembling a sphere of spikes) to ram one target creature, plus one per 10 creator levels of the rod (drop fractions; max 4 at level 30). The targets must all be within 30 feet of the wielders space, and all creatures or unattended objects you choose must be within 20 feet of each other. Each creature targeted suffers damage as noted below of buffeting (physical, uncommon) damage, and is Pushed one square away from your space, plus one additional square per ten creator levels of the rod (1 square up to 10th, 2 squares 11th to 20th, 3 squares 21st to 30th, max 4 squares at 31st and above). If any creature makes a saving throw as described below, they take half damage and are not Pushed. Like all Forced Movement, creatures may fall prone to stop the movement at any time. This spell pushes an unattended object struck by it 20 feet away from you, provided it is size Small or less. This spell cannot move creatures or objects beyond your range. This spell does not inflict Sunders or do Siege Damage.


You can purchase this rod at a higher creator level than the minimum required to cast the spell. Doing so increases the potency of the spell as described above, but also increases the cost, as follows:
