This rod is in the shape of a black branch, capped on both ends with jagged splinters of wet wood. It is always wet and cold to the touch, and smells of grave soil.

Wielders of this rod can utter a command word as a standard action to cast a Snowball spell, using up one charge from the rod.

When activated, this rod shakes slightly, as a wretched blob of dirty ice, shot through with stains of unpleasant fluids, forms at one of the jagged ends. With a flick of the wrist, you send the blob of slush toward a target you choose within 30 feet of your space, as long as you have line of sight and line of effect to your victim.

When you speak the command word and flick the rod, you may make a ray attack against your target, as the ball of deathly ice, innocently looking like a child's play, darts toward your victim. The Snowball deals damage as described below as cold (energy, common) damage on a successful hit, and the target suffers from torpid for 1 round. If the touch attack misses, there is no effect.

You can purchase this rod at a higher creator level than the minimum required to cast the spell. Doing so increases the potency of the spell as described above, but also increases the cost, as follows:
