: No one knows.  All that is known for sure is, more often than not, where there are dragons, there will be dragonborn.

Snowy Dragonborn are capable combatants, frequently using guerrilla tactics to assault groups, harassing them multiple times before committing to a melee engagement. Their accuracy with their careens is deadly, though they are quite capable up close as well.

As their name implies, Snowy Dragonborn are highly adapted to cold environments, and are also quite resistant to the area damage caused by white dragons, for whom they often work.

Special Abilities

Dragontouched (Ex) Always On

Snowy Dragonborn are immune to cold (energy, common), the effects of Icy terrain, and the White Dragon's Whiteout power.

Deceptive (Ex) Automatic

When using their Careen ranged attack, the first time they attack a given foe, the target is considered flat-footed for purposes of that first attack. When thrown, a Careen bobs and turns due to its shape, and thus catches foes off guard. This means that Dragonborn often 'spread around' their ranged attacks, attacking each enemy once with their careen, so as to maximize their bonuses for the Deceptive power.

Snowy Dragonborn

Where the Dragonborn come from is a mystery. Are they young dragons? Are they degenerate humanoids, corrupted by dragon magics to the draconian ideal? Are they a slave or servant race which lives in secret enclaves?

No one knows.

Snowy Dragonborns are frequently associated with Common White Dragons. These creatures can often be found together.

Combat Tactics

Snowy Dragonborn live to serve their dragon. They will use stealth to move to the rear of any enemies and provide flanks to the dragon. They will attack without mercy, and use their lives to block attacks upon the dragon if necessary. They will use their Careens at range, combining their fire on a single victim and using the Deceptive property of the weapons to attack against flatfooted AC for the first attack.

This means they will spread their attacks, but that's fine in their minds, as any attacks they draw away from the dragon are a good thing.

When the Dragon is dropped to zero hit points the first time, snowy dragonborn are immune to the concealment effects and damage of the Whiteout. As a result they will attack with their careens at range as much as possible until the dragon reforms.

Snowy Dragonborn attack without fear and fight to the death without hesitation if in the presence of a Dragon. if they are encountered away from a Dragon, usually on some mission, although it is possible to meet so-called "Lost" Dragonborn without a dragon, they will be far more cowardly and will seek to break away from conflict and fly away with their incredible Flight speed as soon as possible. Such encounters should be warnings: No Dragonborn is Lost for long.

Out of Combat

It is possible to encounter Snowy Dragonborn almost anywhere, their competent Disguise skill and Knowledge (Local) making it possible for them to 'pass' in the most surprising of circumstances. Shadowy crime bosses, cloistered monks, religious converts, traveling merchants, jovial caravan masters, long-suffering arctic barbarians, all of these and more have been guises for Snowy Dragonborn, all on some mysterious errand for their terrible masters.

When a Dragonborn is revealed in such a role, it almost always a sign of terrible things to come.
