* is the 'Silent Black' actually necessary? Isn't it either the Astral Sea or the Outer Madness? Does it add anything useful to our cosmology?

are you reading my mind!?  :D  I literally had the exact same thought after I put that in and was going to ask you about it. I think we probably should allow this, and this then becomes the motivation for the Crool, trying to push universes into the Sea rather than add yet more Atropals.

in my thinking, they are two things, each a reflection of the other.  now, do they create the prime, or are they created by the prime?  i'd leave that open, mystery is good for creativity :)

okay, I mostly agree that some ambiguity is useful here, since 'solving' the cosmos in our game is only going to limit creativity... however, since we've already warned players away from reading the page, giving prospective GM's enough to visualize the cosmology should be the goal.

actually entering  the astral 'for reals' requires very high-level goodies (spelljammers? Aether Flyers?)

plane shift or gate to reach any other material plane: inner planes (elemental, energy) outer planes (wards, lateral materials)

astral projection to create astral self to reach the astral plane, and from there, you can reach anywhere else (making an avatar body as detailed in the spell)
