This woman is terrifying.

Storyline for Into the Veil of Night

It's an Imperial man-o'-war.

Edric: I wonder what they want with us!

The ship's name is the Veil of Night. Nightbringer class of ship. This one is rigged as a long range ship interdicter. Pair of torpedoes on it.

We climb up to take a better look at it.

The torpedoes - are actually ships. Named Bolt of Fury and the Surprise!. There are about 30 troopers and 6 crew on each.

We return to the Far Rider and either crash out (it is about 4am) or go on watch.

The next morning, a boarding party arrives at the Far Rider. A Hand of Imperial Troopers lead by a Sarna. He hailed the ship. A crew members finds Edric and lets him know. "Trooper Harris." Sends an invitation for dinner.

Sour Sarah is not happy Edric accepted the invitation. "General Olympia Winter."

We head to town to get appropriate attire. Checking at the Landau for Leslie, the lanterns are out. The knock, no response. Scipia and Edric spend a few minutes looking away...the door creeks and Leslie comes out. She cannot come to dinner. She asks us to to mention the thing (the assassination attempt).

We head into town and purchase attire. We go back to the ship and at 5pm sharp a unit of Imperial Troopers. Sarna Harris hails us. The entire party is going (No Bill, No Leslie). They escort us into the tower to the top to a gangplank that takes us into the Veiled Night. It is packed with soldiers. Eventually we a lead to a antechamber. The ceilings are 6'6" high.

Scipia works the room. Hydrazine ends up talking with some some Sarnas (the guys Corvus is talking to - 12th degree and 9th degree) Vellum works the room too. Seems the room is full of "protocol officers". They are out here on a 'routine patrol'.

After 30 minutes, we are summoned to dinner. Plates are made of gold - it is part of the General's personal stock. The General sits with us at our table. She addresses each of us. Dinner is then served.

Our Captain is the main reason the Imperial ship decided she wanted to layover here. Keladin flirts with the General. (She started service 99,322; born 99,303. She looks real good for 688 years old!) After dinner, a fine liquor is served.

There are some rumors coming from the Windward Marches. General Winter hints that going to the Windward marches would be...bad. She recommends that the Far Rider should turn around.

Heeber and Jeeber (twin diplomatic corp - spies) are not in the room when the Captain leaves. Heeber and Jeeber are on detached service aboard the Veil of Night, because their normal General is 'occupied.'

We head back to the Far Rider. Some of us realize our rooms have been professionally searched.

Sour Sarah asks us what happened. She asks if we were asked about anyone else besides Capt Paramon. We admit that Edric said the good captain had help in Mount Grumbley, but did not say who they were.

Cannibal Coven members: Aidan Cataclyst, Daggan Umberson, Erica Grimm, Gideon Foehammer, Meria Diresight, Obdurian Temper

Sour Sarah checked on the hold. Reached into the door(?) and pulled out one of the lanterns, checked it then put it back.

Vellum finds signs in at least three locations that rooms were searched.

It's about 10pm now.

The next day, bright and early, Corvus is up. Keladin does weapons practice. At 8am, Sour Sarah wakes up in an apocalyptically foul mood. She says to go play elsewhere today.
