Blistering Rage (Su)

Requires: Barbarian 1, Primal Mien
Benefit: Once per round as a standard action, or the first attack of a full attack action, you can activate Blistering Rage to scald the flesh of a nearby enemy. Choose an adjacent target you threaten and can perceive. Make a melee touch attack using your highest attack value, based on the weapon in your main hand. If the touch attack hits, your scalding rage flays your foe with elemental energy, inflicting 2d6 + WIS modifier points of fire (energy, common) damage. This damage increases by +1d6 per experience tier of the Barbarian class that you possess after the first (i.e. 3d6 + WIS with at least 6 levels of Barbarian, 4d6 + WIS with at least 11 levels of Barbarian, etc., to a maximum of 8d6 + WIS if you have at least 31 levels of Barbarian).

Progression:

  • 11th Level: Creatures who are struck by Blistering Rage have massive blisters erupt from their skin, inflicting the Torpid condition until the beginning of the barbarian's next turn.
  • 21st Level: You may now use Blistering Rage as a ranged touch attack on a creature up to 15 feet away from you, instead of adjacent. You may still make a melee touch attack against an adjacent creature, if you prefer. Ranged touch attacks provoke attacks of opportunity from foes that threaten you (as with any ranged attack made while threatened).
  • 31st Level: You may now use Blistering Rage as a ranged touch attack on a creature up to 30 feet away from you, instead of adjacent.
