Condition Severity: Strong

An enemy has laid such insults upon you that you will settle this vendetta at any cost.

Effects

  • Until the creature which has compelled you is slain, you can take no action other than pursuing and attacking that creature. You may not make any attacks which target any creature other than the compelling enemy, unless those attacks include the compelling enemy. You may not make attacks of opportunity, except attacks of opportunity against the compelling enemy.
  • Note that if the compelling enemy is more than 100 feet (20 squares) away from you before the start of your next turn, this status condition ends before it has any effect.
  • If anyone other than you kills the compelling enemy, all attacks made against you after that point from any source, for the remainder of the encounter, deal maximum damage to you.

Ended By

If the ability, trap, or effect description includes specific directions for how the condition is ended, then that is the primary means of ending this condition. In many cases, it is the only way to end the condition. If nothing is specifically listed for ending the condition, then the following methods can be used to end it, instead:

  • Compelled ends when the enemy which inflicted it upon you is slain.
  • Note that, if the enemies gained a bonus from your failure to kill the compelling creature yourself, this bonus does not go away when the condition ends.
  • If you become compelled by a different creature, the new compelled status replaces the old one. You cannot ever be compelled by two different creatures at once.
  • If the enemy escapes beyond your reach, compelled automatically ends at the end of the encounter.
  • If you manage to kill a creature which compelled you, you are immune to being compelled (by any source) for the remainder of the encounter.
