As such, they may have no idea that they have been Deafened, unless prompted with visual cues.

If the Bard then hits a creature Deafened by the Bard's Song of Mayhem, the Bard may choose to replace the Deafened condition with Rattled, or not. Otherwise, the deafness persists until the Bard ends the performance of Song of Mayhem.
