Designating, Lesser (Ranged Weapon Magic Property)

Enchant Cost: +2

This special ability can only be placed on ranged weapons, causing them emanate a palpable feeling of deadly power.

Up to once per round, when a ranged weapon with this property hits a creature, its magic designates the target. This is a non-visual effect, making the target seem more vulnerable. As such, it changes their combat vulnerability, but has no effect upon the targets stealth or visibility.

All allies (including the wielder) gain a +1 circumstance bonus on melee attack rolls and +4 points of bonus melee damage against the designated target until the start of the wielder's next turn. This bonus damage is counted as the same damage type as inflicted by the weapon used for purposes of overcoming DR. If the weapon inflicts more than one type of damage, the wielder of the melee attack chooses which damage type is boosted.

Circumstance bonuses from other sources stack, but multiple successful Designating shots fired at the same target, even if from different weapons with the designating property, do not increase the bonuses or their duration.

Creation: Creator (Feat), Bailiwick Check (DC 23), a languid remnant (tier 1), and an item symbolic of the enchantment.
