Devastation (Ex)

Requires: Barbarian 1
Benefit: Once per round as a free action, you cause your next attack to impact your enemy with devastating force. If the attack hits, it inflicts a -3 penalty to the armor class of the creature struck, which persists until the start of your next turn. You must make this attack before the start of your next turn, and the attack must hit the target, or this activation provides no benefit. The penalty inflicted by Devastation cannot be stacked with itself, even if applied by two different barbarians. Devastation is considered a 'condition', and will therefore overwrite any existing condition on the target creature (since monsters can only have one condition at a time). Monsters with roles, such as threats and heavies, may be partially or fully immune to conditions, and therefore the effects of this rage power.

Progression:

  • 11th Level: The AC penalty caused by Devastation increases to -3.
  • 21st Level: When you activate this rage power, it applies to your next two attacks, if they hit, and as long as they occur before the start of your next turn. Note that the AC penalty from Devastation does not stack with itself, so the attacks should be made against different creatures.
  • 31st Level: When you activate this rage power, it applies to your next three attacks, if they hit, and as long as they occur before the start of your next turn. Note that the AC penalty from Devastation does not stack with itself, so the attacks should be made against different creatures.
