| Prog1 = If you succeed against the saving throw with both die rolls, you gain a number of temporary hit points equal to the effect's caster level (in the case of spell or spell-like abilities) or half the CR of the effect's creator (in the case of supernatural abilities)As with any temporary hit points, they do not stack with other temporary hit points. Instead, if the new temporary hit points are greater than any existing, they replace the existing temporary hit points. Note that these temporary hit-points appear instantly, before any damage inflicted upon you is calculated, which has the result of lowering the damage you suffer by the number of the temporary hit points.
| Prog1 = If you succeed against the saving throw with both die rolls, you completely negate all effects of the ability being used against you, even if the ability would normally inflict damage or effects on a successful saving throwThis does not negate the ability as a whole; only that portion of the ability that is targeting you.

| Prog2 = When you activate Eater of Magic, you immediately add 3 bonus hit points to your current hit points. If these bonus hit points would cause you to exceed your maximum hit point total, your maximum hit point total is increased to accommodate the new bonus hit points. All bonus hit points (and any increase to your maximum hit points caused by bonus hit points) are removed at the end of the encounter or when your rage ends (whichever comes first).
| Prog2 = Eater of Magic applies to all saving throws you make against spells, spell-like, or supernatural abilities before the start of your next turn (instead of just the first one).

| Prog3 = Eater of Magic can now be used to resist any enemy creature's ability, even if it is extraordinary, rather than spell, spell-like, or supernatural in nature, as long as it is targeting you (or including you in its area of effect) and grants a saving throw.  Even the most mundane of abilities contain some trace of foul witchery inside them, and you have honed your soul to resist even these.

Eater of Magic (Ex)

Requires: Barbarian 1, Superstitious Mien
Benefit: Once per round as a free action, you can become more resistant to magic. Until the start of your next turn, the first time an enemy creature targets you (or includes you in the area of effect) with a spell, spell-like, or supernatural ability, you can roll the saving throw twice against the effect and choose the best result.

Progression:

  • 11th Level: If you succeed against the saving throw with both die rolls, you completely negate all effects of the ability being used against you, even if the ability would normally inflict damage or effects on a successful saving throw. This does not negate the ability as a whole; only that portion of the ability that is targeting you.
  • 21st Level: Eater of Magic applies to all saving throws you make against spells, spell-like, or supernatural abilities before the start of your next turn (instead of just the first one).
  • 31st Level: Eater of Magic can now be used to resist any enemy creature's ability, even if it is extraordinary, rather than spell, spell-like, or supernatural in nature, as long as it is targeting you (or including you in its area of effect) and grants a saving throw. Even the most mundane of abilities contain some trace of foul witchery inside them, and you have honed your soul to resist even these.
