: Note that a creature whose place in the initiative order is reduced cannot take an additional action in a round in which it has already acted. : Furthermore, if a creature holding its action (or readying an action) has its initiative reduced, it may not act during any of the initiative ticks prior to its new initiative number. For example, a creature on initiative 20 holds its action. On initiative 19, it is attacked and gains the Jostled condition, reducing its initiative to a 17. The creature may not use its held action until initiative 17 or later.

Condition Severity: Weak

   You have been shoved off-balance.

Effects

  • You cannot perform any action which requires a full-attack action or a full-round action.
  • Constructs, oozes, plants, undead, incorporeal creatures, and creatures immune to critical hits are immune to the jostled condition.

Ended By

If the ability, trap, or effect description includes specific directions for how the condition is ended, then that is the primary means of ending this condition. In many cases, it is the only way to end the condition. If nothing is specifically listed for ending the condition, then the following methods can be used to end it, instead:

  • You can spend a move action to readjust your footing, immediately ending the jostled condition.
  • You can spend a swift action to attempt an Escape Artist check against the Maneuver Defense of the creature who inflicted this status. If there is no creature involved, the target is a challenging DC based on the CR (challenge rating) of the effect. If you succeed on the check, you shrug off the condition. You may only attempt this once – if you fail the Escape Artist check, you may not try again, and must recover by some other means.
  • If not cleared, the jostled condition automatically ends at the end of the encounter.
