Despite its underwhelming performance as a pure martial weapon, if you take a sturdy stick and slather magic on it until it nearly bursts, you wind up with quite the useful object. As a result, these humble hitting sticks are much more common than you might suspect. The Light Mace belongs to the "Hammers" weapon group.
