You know just where to strike to temporarily rattle a foe.

Prerequisites: <BAB +6 -OR- Monk 2>, Unarmed Strike, Improved (Feat)

Related: Jawbreaker (Feat), Rattling Fist, Improved (Feat)

Benefit: You must declare that you are using this feat before you make your attack roll (thus, a failed attack roll ruins the attempt). A foe successfully struck by a Rattling Fist attack becomes Rattled, in addition to taking normal damage from the unarmed attack. The Rattled condition lasts until the beginning of your next turn.

You may attempt a Rattling Fist attack once per day for every four levels you have attained (dropping fractions, minimum 1), and no more than once per round. Constructs, oozes, plants, undead, incorporeal creatures, and creatures immune to critical hits cannot be Rattled by this feat. A Rattling Fist attack may not be used in combination with an unarmed attack which already inflicts a status condition. However, Rattling Fist can be combined with special unarmed attacks, such as the brawler's Haymaker.

Special: A monk receives Rattling Fist as a bonus feat at 2nd level, even if they do not meet the prerequisites. A monk may attempt a Rattling Fist attack a number of times per day equal to their monk level, plus one additional time per day for every five levels they possess in classes other than monk. A monk may use Rattling Fist when making melee attacks with special monk weapons as well as when making unarmed attacks.
