Returning (Melee Weapon Magic Property)

Enchant Cost: 50 gp; does not increase the plus-cost of the weapon

This magic weapon property can only be placed on melee weapons that are designed to be thrown (that is, a melee weapon that has a numeric value in its Range column), or on weapons with the Throwing magic property. The returning magic property cannot be applied to ammunition or any weapon with the expendable quality.

A returning weapon teleports instantly back to the creature that threw it immediately after each attack the thrower makes (hit or miss). This allows the thrower to make multiple attacks during a full attack action with a single returning weapon. Catching a returning weapon when it comes back is a free action. If the character can't catch it for some reason, the weapon drops to the ground in the square from which it was thrown.

Special: This magic property costs only 50 gold pieces to apply to a weapon and does not increase the plus-cost of the weapon. Further properties on the thrown weapon do not cost more because of the returning property, nor does it count against the maximum number of magic properties the weapon can have.

Creation: Creator (Feat), Bailiwick Check (DC 16), a languid remnant (tier 1), and an item symbolic of the enchantment.
