Sipping Jacket +1

Sipping Jacket +1

CL 1 Chest Slot Item • Weak Conjuration
Cost: 500 gp
Weight: 8 lbs.
Family: Sipping Jacket

A Sipping Jacket is an item of magical clothing that fits closely around the upper torso of the wearer. Aside from that, the exact appearance and materials of a Sipping Jacket can vary widely. Some of these items are examples of haute couture, highly-fashionable items that the idle rich would be pleased to showcase at the most elite of social events. Other Sipping Jackets are sturdy, utilitarian things, of heavy-duty cloth or leather construction, reinforced for long, comfortable wear. Some jackets have exotic and flamboyant decorations, others are simple in cut, yet others have elaborate decorations.

All Sipping Jackets are potently magical, although by themselves, they do nothing of real interest. The real power of a Sipping Jacket is their ability to absorb, store, and reproduce the effects of magical potions. It is possible to pour the contents of a magical potion onto, or perhaps 'into' a Sipping Jacket, and then recall the use of that potion for the wearer without using the hands, and usually as a quicker, easier process than glugging down an enchanted brew.

This is not particularly useful in social situations, where the manners displayed while elegantly sipping can be a highly-refined art, but in a dire combat, the ability of a Sipping Jacket to apply the effects of a potion without all the frippery is massively useful indeed.

Special: If the wearer of a Sipping Jacket also has the Quaff (Feat), then the Quaff feat allows them to use a potion in a Sipping Jacket as a free action, even outide their normal turn. This is in addition to the normal use of the Jacket, as described above, although if the Jacket is not currently storing a potion, this obviously has no effect.

A Sipping Jacket +1 can store the effects of one potion, requiring a standard action to 'fill' the Jacket with any given potion. Once filled, the effects remain in storage until used, or the Sipping Jacket is Broken. All potion effects stored in a Sipping Jacket are lost if it gains the Broken condition. While the Sipping Jacket is storing a potion, the wearer may use the effects of that potion at will. This does not require the use of a hand, and requires the wearer to use a swift action. Aside from those changes, using a potion from a Sipping Jacket has exactly the same effects as if the potion were consumed normally.

The owner of this magic item must wear it continuously for 24 hours to attune it to their aura, and until that time has passed, it provides no benefits to the wearer.

Creation: Creator (Feat), Bailiwick Check (DC 12 (10 + double CL)), Languid (tier 1) remnant, An item symbolic of the enchantment, 250 gp (minus cost of symbolic item).
