Description

The holder of this poultice smears the aromatic herbal balm on a specially harvested taproot, then chooses a single square on a solid horizontal surface within range. Stone, sand, natural earth, wooden flooring, forest floor, etc, are all valid locations, as is any other surface suitable to Walk on unimpeded. Difficult, impeded or blocked terrain cannot have this poultice effect placed upon it. Upon application of this poultice, the holder creates a shallow extradimensional hole perfectly sized to trip anyone who steps within it. This hole occupies a single 5-foot square. Any creature occupying the square when the holder first creates the hole, or who later steps into the square containing the hole, must make a saving throw as described above to avoid stumbling to a knee and gaining the quelled condition in that square and taking (Circle 1 damage): 1d6 points of damage per character level (max 4d6 at character level 4) points of falling (physical, uncommon) damage. A creature that makes its saving throw takes half the damage and does not receive the quelled condition. The poultice has no effect on creatures adjacent to the square containing the hole.
