potentially unpopular suggestion: should we make 'Troop' and 'Swarm' into patterns, instead of types?  This would allow us to bake in a damage reduction (which they need, since they're auto-hit in an AOE), but also allow them to be applied to basically anything via the MMM...  currently, you can only get a swarm or troop if they're written up that way, so a GM wouldn't have the ability to apply this 'on the fly'.

whoof...  interesting.  i'm not sure how I feel about a swarm of dragons, although we have a tool to stop that in the MMM at least.  Of course, we'd have to re-touch everything again to use that tool, which is also not great...  but it'd get us the ability to turn basically every 'standard' mob, and at the very least skellies, zombies, and most vermin into swarms or troops at-will, which is not nothing. I like the idea, but lets think about it a bit, maybe discuss some.

well, another option would be to make it a role, which would then be mutually exclusive with any other role (which all dragons must have).  We could also disable it as a potential role, of we so choose, per monster.  The only issue with making it a role is there's no level adjustment, which means I'd have to adjust damage a different way (not a deal-breaker).
