Tinker's Tunic +6

CL 21 Body Slot Item • Strong Conjuration
Cost: 212,500 gp
Weight: 3 lbs.
Family: Tinker's Tunic

A tinker's tunic is rarely all that fashionable, though neither is it shoddy or subtle. Often it is flashy to the point of garish, utilizing a cacophonous mix of bright colors, metallic threads, tassels and fringes to quickly catch the eye of passers-by. Cheaper versions of this garment accomplish this through the use of patches sewn over a common fabric, while the more expensive versions are made in dazzling patterns and elaborate quilting patterns of expensive fabric and enchanted thread. In all cases, the tunic is full of pockets, pouches, and flaps,

A tinker's tunic functions very much like a limited sort of merchant, allowing the wearer to purchase one item up to once per day by performing a 1-hour-long ritual to activate its magic. This ritual can only be performed after the wearer has fully attuned the item. Note that it is possible to perform a one-hour ritual and still retain enough of the day to perform downtime activities, if you wish. See Full Day for details.

After activating the tunic, the wearer places an appropriate sum of money in the various pockets of the tunic and then retrieve the item from behind one of the flaps (or from within a different pocket, if it is a smaller item).

The Tinker's Tunic cannot be used to sell items, only to purchase them. Wearers of the Tinker's Tunic may only pay for items using currency, which includes standard coinage (copper pieces, gold pieces, astral diamonds, etc.), or gems with a known monetary value. Sellable goods may not be used without first converting them to currency via an actual merchant.

Up to once per day, an attuned wearer of the Tinker's Tunic can spend currency to purchase one item from the tunic as though it were a merchant, with a maximum item purchase cost of 600,000 gold pieces. The price of the item being purchased is automatically discounted by 20% due to the advanced magics of the Tunic. (Because of this discount, the most money the character will ever actually spend on an item purchased through this Tunic is 480,000 gold pieces.)

Purchasing an item through the tunic requires a one-hour ritual, during which the wearer can perform no other actions. Items cannot be sold to the tunic, nor can a Barter skill check be used to further reduce the price of items being purchased through the tunic.

In addition, the attuned wearer of the Tinker's Tunic gains a +2 circumstance bonus to all Barter checks they perform.

The owner of this magic item must wear it continuously for 24 hours to attune it to their aura, and until that time has passed, it provides no benefits to the wearer.
