Ability Type: Ex

Prerequisites: Rogue 11

Benefit: A rogue with this talent gains the Shield Proficiency (Feat) as a bonus feat, and may use sneak attack while wearing any shield, and can perform shield bashes even if the rogue does not have Martial Weapons Proficiency.

Note that any rogue can wear a buckler or light shield and still perform sneak attacks, but they do not begin the game with the feats necessary to proficiently do so. This talent grants that feat, but also allows the rogue to wear a heavy shield and still perform sneak attacks, if they want to.

This talent does not grant the proficiency necessary to wear a War Shield or a Tower Shield, though it does grant the ability to deal sneak attack damage while wearing them, if the rogue wants to pick up the proficiency separately (see Shield Use: War Shield (Feat) and Shield Use: Tower Shield (Feat)).
