Condition Severity: Weak

Effects

  • An enemy has questioned your worthiness, honor and courage. He must be answered.
  • If, by the end of your next turn, you have not made an attack against the creature which Vexed you (or included him in an attack), you suffer a -2 penalty to your AC for the rest of the encounter, because you are so filled with shame.
  • Furthermore, if the enemy which gave you this condition provokes an attack of opportunity from you, and you have an attack of opportunity available, you MUST make the attack of opportunity against him, even if you really don't want to.

Ended By

If the ability, trap, or effect description includes specific directions for how the condition is ended, then that is the primary means of ending this condition. In many cases, it is the only way to end the condition. If nothing is specifically listed for ending the condition, then the following methods can be used to end it, instead:

  • Vexed ends as soon as you make an attack against the creature which Vexed you (or when you include him in an attack), or when you take the -2 penalty to AC from failing to attack him.
  • Note that the penalty to AC is not removed when the condition ends.
  • If you manage to kill a creature which Vexed you in the same round that it vexed you (i.e. before the end of your next turn after being made Vexed), you are immune to being Vexed for the remainder of the encounter.
