An expert's wand of reaching grants the wielder the ability to apply the effects of the Reach Spell (Feat) to any spell of any spell level, up to once per encounter, without increasing the spell level of the spell.
The wand is limited, however, to only increasing the range of a spell by one step (though the feat is more versatile). That is, a 'touch' spell becomes 'close' range, a 'close' range spell becomes 'medium' range, and a 'medium' range spell becomes 'long' range. This wand, like the feat, cannot improve the range of a spell that is already 'long' range, nor can it alter the range of a spell with any other listed range besides touch, close, medium, or long (such as 'self').
The wielder must already possess the Reach Spell (Feat) to use this wand. Without the feat, the wand is unusable.This magic item does not require an attunement period, and grants its benefits immediately upon being worn or wielded.
