Description

Confronted with an obstacle, you call out to the Green for assistance. The Green sends you beans.
If you throw the beans onto the ground before you, the magic in them causes a thick, sturdy beanstalk to sprout from the ground (which can be any surface suitable to Walk upon) and grow upward to a height of 10 feet + 5 feet per 2 caster levels, dropping fractions. The growing stalk grows directly upward, but anchors itself to sturdy objects such as walls or ceilings adjacent to its space, and grows around objects that do not fully obstruct its square (such as tree branches), but is stopped by solid obstacles.
The beanstalk provides numerous hand and footholds and can easily be climbed by any creature which moves next to it. The Movement DC to climb its vertical reach is 5. The beanstalk can support a total weight up to the Drag load of the caster, or double that amount if anchored on its upper end. If it anchors itself to a sturdy mobile object (such as a ship or a siege engine), breaking the object free requires a Sunder check against the Maneuver Defense of the caster. If the beanstalk is attacked it is immune to hit point damage, but can be broken by a successful Sunder against the Maneuver Defense of the Caster. It has only 1 Durability, sadly. If broken, it falls and disintegrates to dust, and any creature climbing it falls from their current height.
If the ground is capable of supporting plant life, the beanstalk continues to live as a normal plant until the next full Moon, and it produces nutritious (if unappetizing) beans. The wretched beans will feed 1 Medium creature per day for each four caster levels of the caster, but they won't like it. Otherwise, the plant dies when the caster takes their next full rest; its husk remains readily climbable and is as durable as a small tree.
