Seafoam Foundation +3

CL 12 Armor Slot Item • Moderate Transmutation
Cost: 37,500 gp
Weight: 9 lbs.
Family: Seafoam Foundation

Magical Seafoam is a prosaic item, appearing as an innocuous, almost invisible patch of foamy bubbles somewhere on the wearer's skin. Due to the nature of the item, requiring constant contact with the owners outer integument at all times, a Seafoam Foundation is not compatible with armor of any sort, mundane or magical, and indeed is 'worn' in the Armor slot of the body. This means that a Seafoam Foundation, simple as it may be, is quite a useful item as it can be worn with many other items. Granted, those martial sorts who like armor will almost never find any use for a Seafoam Foundation, as they value their armor far too highly, but the less-hardened sorts often find Seafoam to be extremely useful.

Seafoam is applied to the skin, filling the armor slot, and while it is being worn the user always appears slightly translucent, and their form may appear to waver or ripple, ever-so-slightly, and small patches of sudsy foam may appear to drift across the backs of their hands, arms, necks, faces, etc. Seafoam Foundation is not exceptionally obvious, but it is not natively concealed, either.

Applying a Seafoam Foundation to a person takes very little time, but it must be worn for a day before the effects are felt, as the foam must be attuned to the wearer's body before it takes effect. While worn, Seafoam encumbers the wearer equal to several pounds of weight, mainly due to all their other items and even clothing being slippery and awkward atop their now slightly-fluid skin.

The Seafoam Foundation +3 adds a +3 Resistance Bonus to all saving throws made by an attuned wearer. It also grants a Lesser Swim speed of 30 feet, or it adds +30 feet to the wearer's lesser or greater swim speed, if they already possess such a movement type from some other source.

The Seafoam Foundation +3 allows the wearer to Breathe Water, which means they are never subject to the Drowning rules and do not have to hold their breath when moving while submersed in any eligible liquid. The GM adjudicates any unusual circumstances.

This magic item does not require an attunement period, and grants its benefits immediately upon being worn or wielded.
