Consumable magic items are any item which is used up when they are used.  The classic example is a magic potion, which is a vial filled with some eldritch elixir that can be drunk, much like a drink of water.  Drinking a potion causes a magical effect to happen, and after that, the potion is gone forever, consumed.

Consumable magic items are any item which is used up when they are used.
